Museum Educator Visitor - How Has Life Changed Over Time? - Inquiry Term One
For inquiry this term our big question is How Has Life Changed Over Time?" We are doing this for inquiry because our school is having it's 75th jubilee over Otago Anniversary Weekend.  Yesterday we had Gary visit us from the Balclutha Museum to talk to us about how life has changed around Clutha Valley and the world over time.  He had a cool slide show that showed us photos of differences between then and now, here and around the world.  Gary also showed us some old tools that were used for ironing, tailing and making jam.  It was very interesting to listen to him, he sure knows his stuff!

Thanks heaps Gary for coming and sharing your knowledge with us.

Congratulations to all the children from Clutha Valley Primary School who swum at the South Otago Swimming Championships on Tuesday night.  All the children gave their very best in their events and represented our school with pride.  Watch this space for results...!

Well done to all the children who participated in our school athletics on Monday and thank you very much to all the parents who helped out. The following children have qualified for the South Otago Athletic Championships on Monday March 10th 2014 in Balclutha:
Wyatt, Flynn, Bryant, Georgia M, Ally, Jade, Angus, Jericho, Nico, Ethyn, Dante, Callum, Tom, Connor, Reece, James C and Glynn.

Congratulations to you all and good luck!

Monday February 17th

Today we had our school swimming sports.  It was fantastic to see all the wonderful swimming skills of our children on display.  We are very lucky to have our own school swimming pool - this is an amazing asset for our children and our community.  A huge thank you to the Clutha Valley Lions who funded swimming lessons for all children in the first week of school.  All teachers have seen improvements in the swimming ability of the children in their classes.  Qualifiers for the South Otago Swimming Championships will be notified tomorrow, watch this space!
